Glass Workshops 2024

    Glass Workshop: Introduction to Fused Glass Mornings

    Dates: To be confirmed

    Time: 1/2 Day - 10am to 1pm.

    Cost: £55.00

    This is a half day class, running from 10 am - 1pm. It is suitable for beginners and intermediate glass makers and will cover; A basic overview process of fusing glass, cutting glass, how to use inclusions, using metals and foils, the application of glass frit and stringers, using glass enamels and kiln firings. You will be able to make a choice of coasters, wall hangings and/or jewellery pieces, to your own designs.

    All materials, and tea and coffee, are provided throughout the morning.

    Pieces will be fired overnight and ready for collection from 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon. These can be collected from my workshop by prior arrangement, or posted out to you at a small fee, if collection is not possible.

    This courses runs with a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve students.

  • Fused Glass Workshops -Coloured Tiles made

    Glass Workshop: Screen Printing onto and in Glass

    Dates: To be confirmed

    Time: 1 Day - 10am to 4pm

    Cost: £120.00

    This is a one day introductory class that is suitable for intermediate glass makers. It covers how to create fused glass designs using liquid glass pigments printed through silkscreens.

    The session will focus on paper-cut stencil printing and the use of photo silkscreen images. You will cut your own papercut stencils and combine these with photo silkscreen images that are provided, to produce a group of four 10 x 10 cm glass tiles/coasters, or a couple of wall hangings.

    All materials and equipment is provided.

    This course runs with a minimum of five and a maximum of eight students.

    Bring lunch with you. Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day.

    Glass Workshop: Sgraffito Glass Frit Drawings

    Dates: To be confirmed

    Time: 1 Day - 10 am - 4pm

    Cost: £95.00

    This course is suitable for beginners and covers the production of a Sgraffito Glass Frit Drawing. These are fused powdered and fritted glass drawings that can be stood on a stand or hung and are created using an investment block and various grades of glass powders.

    Initially you will be shown how to make an investment block before then working on a pre-dried block, using your own A5 image, to create your glass drawing. Your design can be pattern- based, figurative or abstract and can also include text. If drawing isn't your thing you can bring your favourite artwork or drawing to work from, and create your own take on this starting point.

    All materials and equipment is provided.
